This song reminds me of a friend Lupe Lopez .He was a dear friend who passed some time ago. He serviced in the Marines RIP Lupe.
We all Miss you.

This is one of those all-time classics– and I’m pleased to see so many responses from people who weren’t even born when this song came out. It just proves that great songs are truly timeless, and speak to all generations.

@mickeydeborah and also to you, thanks

Unfortunately you have to be on ecstacy to enjoy the love songs of today, as they’re all booty shakers w/ zero emotional depth. This song nailed it though.

mickeydeborah November 14, 2011 at 7:06 am

@skypilot722

God bless you and all Vets. I was in the Air force from 1967 to 1971.

BabylonGenocide149 November 14, 2011 at 7:56 am

@mattdaddyful You’d be surprised what music is from this generation. To be truthful Ive heard some music from waaay back that the world could’ve done without. hah

dlparkhurst November 14, 2011 at 8:53 am

Man, this is music, real music. No electronics to enhance the voices – the real stuff God gave to us.

TalentedAsian November 14, 2011 at 9:24 am

@mattdaddyful I agree and I’m 13

skypilot722 November 14, 2011 at 10:17 am

@aellarex I was in the Air Force between 1968 and 72. I got off easily compared to you. I was sent to Germany in 1970 for two years. Compared to what you endured and are enduring I was at “summer camp.” Marines are always asked to do the most with the least. I am praying for you my friend. There is tremendous power in prayer and I can only imagine your state of mine, but with God on your side it’s like having every Marine and vet who has ever lived, in your corner. God Bless.

@MrRJDB1969 Yep, straight out of Cincinnati, Ohio. You are right, they do have a black sound to them.

Jazzelegance November 14, 2011 at 10:52 am

As a man, I love romance and love songs.

corbaseball12 November 14, 2011 at 11:45 am

I contend that if this song were re-released, it would hit #1 on the pop charts, and would be #1 for at least 5 weeks, if not longer. Excellent song!
